Never enough of Greece. This summer I’m bringing you lot of possibilities to discover one of the most amazing beaches in Greece, and one of them is certainly Porto Katsiki.
This exotic beach isn’t famous just in domestic waters, but all around the world. It has been voted one of the six best beaches in the entire Mediterranean. Porto Katsiki is located about 40 kilometers southwest of Lefkada Town, the island’s capital city. There are two ways to access the beach. You can take a boat from Nidri or Vassiliki to Porto Katsiki or have a daily cruise and visit at the same day Ithaka Island, Skorpios Island, Kefalonia and Egremni beach. Approaching the coast by boat is a great opportunity to take stunning photos. The boats are not allowed to come onto the beach and you’ll have to swim to the shore. At the same time, you can stay on the boat, relax and feel the pleasant sea breeze on your face and the smell of salt in the air.
The other way to get to Porto Katsiki Beach is by car, but it won’t be a very convenient experience driving for an hour in a zigzagged road. Top advice for tourists; make sure to have your car filled up with fuel because you will not find any gas station on the way from Lefkada to Porto Katsiki.
Love the name Porto Katsiki, it means ‘’Goat Port ‘’. There are no goats, but getting down to the beach will neither be very easy since you‘ll have to descend 80 steep steps along the cliff. The stairs haven’t been completely repaired since the earthquake that struck the region in 2015.
At the top, close to the steps, you’ll find a car parking and some snack bars and canteens. Bilvi cafe on the top is open every day since morning. It has a swimming pool and other refreshment.
Once you get there, you’ll notice immediately a fascinating landscape and clear blue sea. Porto Katsiki is surrounded by incredible hills which offer you a natural shade spot for some privacy and relaxing sunbathing.
You will only sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent on the beach at the price of 15 euros.
No matter the path you choose to access it, Porto Katsiki is absolutely between your must-visit beaches!

A very nice spot indeed. And not too crowded. Eupharisto. 😉
Wow, what an amazing destination. The water is so calm and relaxing to look at. I can really feel the warmth of the island.
