The Best Beaches of Pelion, Greece.

Pelion is a place which has some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. This magnificent peninsula has everything: a mountain, a city, a village and a seaside. It has wilderness and peace. Pelion is a place that you can visit during the summer and winter holidays. In the winter you can go skiing and in the summer swimming and snorkeling are on your to-do list. However, it was my first time in Pelion and gotta admit I didn’t expect such amazing beaches. Every inch of the sea is covered with crystal clear water and its beaches are surrounded by high green mountains. You might have seen Pelion beaches without knowing about it! Agioi Saranta beach

Agioi Saranta beach, located 2 km from the village of Chorefto,  is very organized and easily accessed with sunbeds and umbrellas. The giant verdant hill behind the beach gives a natural shade ( a swimmer’s prayer ).

Potistika beach

Potistika beach is a large beach of fine sand, smooth pebbles, and crystal waters. This fascinating rocky environment simply takes your breath away.

Love beach volley but don’t want to don’t want to get sunburnt?  Then do it like Christopher and Argiris; lie on your sunbed under the shadow of umbrellas and enjoy playing! Safe and relaxed.

Horefto beach

Horefto is a large sandy beach (more than 2 km) with many facilities located 55 km south-east of Volos. The good news is that on your way to the beach you’ll drive through a beautiful forest.

Alongside the Horefton beach, there are many nice taverns. We dined at the beachfront tavern “O Sogampros”. Delicious food, friendly owner and reasonable prices. The owner offered us a tasty dessert, similar to apple pie. Well, I am not fun of apple pies but his homemade apple pie was really yummy.

Mylopotamos beach.

Mylopotamos beach is a white sandy beach divided into two sections by massive rocks and pine trees. A zigzagged path leads from one part to another.

Ideal for diving and snorkeling.

Damouchari

Damouchari is the only natural port situated on the eastern coast of Pelion. It can be reached by boat from Agios Ioannis and Mylopotamos, or by foot from the road coming from Tsagarada or via the magnificent gorge of Mouressi. It is considered as the most picturesque place in Pelion. Some scenes of the film “Mamma Mia” have been shot here.

Pelion’s beaches are definitely the spots you should check in this summer, and then come back for winter holidays.
