Mystery is hidden, attractive and deep. We always try to resolve it. We dig, we research and we try to reveal the truth. But somehow, at the end of the day, mystery becomes a top secret. And the truth is out there. The history is the witness that one whole civilization could disappear ‘’in one fearful day and night ‘’, well said by Plato. That’s the case with The Sunken City of Cuba.
A Canadian company ADC (Advanced Digital Communications) led by a group of researchers, an engineer and an oceanographer on the head, Paulina Lelitsky, discovered something unexpected. Sent to Cuba’s territorial waters, they found the ruins of the ancient city. After a big and completely positive shock, they started with different theories. The lost city was filmed with sonar readings on quite amazing 2,200 feet down (600-750 m).
The sonar images are up to 150 to 200 meters (492 to 656 feet) in length and maybe up to 50 to 100 meters (164 to 328 feet) in width. The images showed structure of massive stones like granite. A real underwater Stonehenge. A half mile down, they noticed the size of the pyramids are nearly three times the size of the pyramids of Cheops. Plus, parts of monument resembles a Sphinx. A great sunken city? It must be Atlantis, was the immediate suggestion of many enthusiasts.
The Plato’s notes describe : ‘’It was destroyed by violent earthquakes and floods.’’
First, they seem to be shaped and molded. Then this peninsula is geologically anomalous if we compare the rest of Cuba. And what is the most shocking is the fact that the angles of these large objects are 90 degrees. The ocean floor is flat and covered with extremely white sand. Considering the theories that for such structure it would have taken 50,000 years, it was a mission impossible to build it and imagine that it was two hands project without any expensive equipment.
There are local legends of the Maya and native Yucatecos that tell of an island inhabited by their ancestors that vanished beneath the waves.
This heart of the ocean even buzzed some bigs, like National Geographic.Paulina Zelitsky of ADC said that “looks like it could have been a large urban center. However, it would be totally irresponsible to say what it was before we have evidence.”
What’s the point? Where it would lead us further? Would it change the whole human history or our origins? We didn’t catch the answer, just silence.
To be continued… we hope. At least hope never dies.

If I had to guess, the team wildly inflated their claims. Would any serious scientists announce to the public that they'd found an underwater city in such an improbable place based on sonar images alone? A similar announcement in 2000 claimed that an underwater temple had been located at the bottom of Lake Titicaca (irishtimes.com/news/titicaca-dispute-bubbles-over-1.338509). Nothing more has been heard of that "discovery" either, which was released as a press release rather than in a scholarly journal subject to peer review. The team had just one archaeologist, at the supposed temple foundation probably either a natural or misinterpreted man-made feature.
I’d like to know what kind of ‘English’ was used to write this article. To say that its ‘atrocious’ would be an understatement. It belongs in a garbage pile somewhere.
