The beautiful Archibald fountain was built in Hyde Park North in Sydney in 1932. The park was gifted to the city by a private citizen, J F Archibald. It is intended to commemorate the association between Australia and France in world War I. The beautiful piece of art is the work of French sculptor Francois Sicard.
