Stunning Water Fountain Sculptures by Malgorzata Chodakowska

The polish-born sculptor, Malgorzata Chodakowska, combines water with raw material and creates spectacular fountains.Primarily, the sculptures are carved from wood and after that the wooden figures are casted in bronze and turned into an elegant female figure.  When the water is added, the statues come to life and make you want to play with them.

It takes her 2-6 months to complete the sculpture.

When the statue is connected to a water jet, a bronze angel suddenly gets its wings, a little ballerina unexpectedly wears a tutu, the thirsty woman bends to drink water and the girl offers water to the young from her hands.

Water is not just a decorative element, but is directly connected, organically tied to the project. It gives life to melancholic figures and is the element that illuminates and highlights the sculpture, the creativity.

Chodakowska studied sculpture art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1985) and continued her study at the Art Academy in Vienna (1988). In 1991, Chodakowska completed her dissertation in Vienna. She has been honored with the highly selective granted ‘Masterclass Award’ many other awards and international prizes.

Chodakowska’s water fountains have been exhibited in Russia, Poland, Denmark, Austria and Japan.
