Underwater Park in Tragoess, Styria, Austria.

Grüner See or Green Lake is a lake in Styria, Austria which is very famous mainly due to the fact that during the month of June it becomes an attraction for divers. Due to the very clear waters of the surrounding mountains, this area will be flooded by water and creates a large lake which has even a bench and some bridges underwater.

This lake is not always underwater, in the summer, this park is dry, with people strolling around and relaxing on benches near its lagoon.
However, during the spring, when the temperature rises and the snow from the nearby Karst mountains melts, this park is submerged in water.

The lake gets its distinctive green colouring, and the name, from the grass and foliage beneath, and thanks to the fresh snow melt, the ice-cold water is crystal clear clear. The temperature of the lake is rather cold at 4 to 8 °C, yet it’s popular among divers who can observe the green meadows in the edge zone of the lake particularly in June when the water is at its highest. The alpine grasses and flowers of the meadow are visible in full bloom under the water.

The Hochschwab mountains and forests around this lake makes it a beautiful sight at any time of the year
