A really great experience wich offers the opportunity to make friends, have fun, learn and travel for almost free as almost all the expenses are covered by European Union. Accommodation and lodging are covered by 100% and travel expenses are covered by 70%.
The project “ECO Wave” that I took part was realized in Galati, Romania from the 22’nd to the 30’th of October 2012. This training course brought together 22 participants and 3 experts from the following countries: Italy, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Romania.
Developed with the motto that “Modern Technology Owes Ecology An Apology ”, ECO Wave is financed by the European Commission in the frame of Youth in Action Programme, action 4.3 Training and Networking Activities.
The general aim of the project was to draw attention to climate change, to develop new methods of raising awareness.
our hopes and expectations
Writing down the ecological problems that our country face
Several methods of non-formal learning were combined to explore the topics: intercultural learning exercises, simulation exercises, discussions, creative thinking techniques, brainstormming, self-assessment inventories, reflection groups and presentations.
European cooperation will be highlighted through networking, according to Youth in Action priorities.
Moto about how turists see our country and how we see it
We had to make up in 3 minutes a song about our fears ..so our song goes like that:
-Hello everybody, I am Ignat and I’m afraid of cold weather, I am afraid of getting frozen
-Oh poor poor Ignat don’t be afraid of getting frozen, we will give you a pill if you get ill
– I’ m afraid of singing, I am afraid of singing
-Don’t be afraid Sofi, we won’t let you sing, your voice is awful
-We are afraid, afraid, afraid…but we don’t have to be afraid, we are a good team, such a good team… no more tears for us…
(hey don’t critisize us bad we had only 3 minutes and 5 people had to cooperate together (the Italian guy didn’t even speak English). But I can admit maybe we were the worst team, which didn’t matter as we had lots of fun 🙂
Just playing, but this game included a streeptease too!!!! she is a little bit shocked
our prize…a bottle of local red wine…it dissapeared in seconds and… I don’t remember to have tasted it…
Night life…
My Greek friends and I are members of a theater team, so we wanted to do something different…so 2 of us were hiding, the other girl apologised for not knowing where we are and why we are late and started the presentation of Greece by showing a video, in the middle of video we got into the class asking to turn down the video as they didn’t need that because the real goddeses came to present Greek mythology and…we acted…and asked from others to act too presenting one of 12 Greek gods and the rest should find out wich one it was.
We also presented a traditional Greek dance
Let’s film!!!!
One of the most fun activities was the LipDub video which we had to make in one evening with the topic of environment.
So we decided to film the fight between the “Cleaning team” and the “Garbage team”
and…. of course the cool Rambo
He doesn’t need any preparations…just a sigarette before the battle
and…. the brave cleaning team with their weapons
Finally Rambo came to clean up the mess!
Barbies are so proud of the winner
Below are some photos of the Galati town.
Galați is a city and municipality in Romania, the capital of Galați County. Located in the historical region of Moldavia, in the close vicinity of Brăila, Galați is the largest port and sea port on the Danube River and the second largest Romanian port.

It was an amazing experience, during these ten days I became a child again, played danced and laughed a lot.
I remember when I was a child I was feeling pity about adults because they never played… I was thinking that their life must be very boring so I promised to myself that when I grow up I will not stop playing. During these days I felt that I have kept my promise to that child….
Traveling with an eco-friendly mindset has become a high priority for many globetrotters, who are seeking to minimize their impact whilst enjoying new places. Luckily, Greece is the perfect place to do just that. With its rich history, culture and vast expanses of natural beauty, there are numerous opportunities for a sustainable and memorable travel experience. The mainland is a treasure trove of historic wonders and breathtaking landscapes that are often overlooked in favor of its iconic surrounding islands – but it has a lot to offer. (more…)

Thank you, Ken! I'm so glad my article reminded you of the beautiful moments you lived there :-)
